The Turf-Tec Grass Height Prism Gauge is a durable tool made of glass and stainless steel. It helps you measure the cutting height of your mower on grass areas and assess the smoothness of the cut. By placing the prism on the green, fairway, or sports field, you can easily see the height of the grass and the quality of the cut.
This gauge has measurement lines visible through the glass, allowing you to compare the grass height to your mower settings. It features markings at 1/8, 1/10, and 1/16 of an inch, and up to 1 mm, measuring grass up to 1 5/8 inches (40 mm) tall. It's perfect for checking golf greens, baseball fields, cricket pitches, and tennis courts where cutting height and surface smoothness matter.
Measuring 8 1/2 x 5 x 3 inches, it can also be used on artificial grass to check fiber height and ensure proper infill for player safety and maintenance. Additionally, it aids in topdressing new rubber infill and grooming.
The Turf-Tec Soil Compaction Tester, or Dial Penetrometer, helps you identify hard layers in the soil up to 24 inches deep (60 cm). By pressing it into the soil and watching the gauge, you can see where hard pans exist. It comes with two tips: one for hard soils and another for soft soils.
Soil compaction can happen in any soil type due to traffic, tillage, and settling, which causes soil particles to clump together, creating a hard layer that hinders moisture and root growth. Certain soils are more prone to compaction, and as compaction increases, so does the difficulty for roots and water to penetrate.
The Turf-Tec tester uses pressure to check soil compaction at various depths. It meets ASAE S313.3 standards and includes two tips: a small (1/2” diameter) for firm soil and a large (3/4” diameter) for soft soil. The dial displays readings in pounds per square inch (PSI) for both tips.
Why Test Soil Compaction?
Improve irrigation efficiency
Enhance the penetration of fertilizers and pesticides
Boost soil moisture retention
Ensure aeration techniques reach the correct depth
Maintain consistency across greens, fairways, tees, or athletic fields

The Ball Mark Repair Tool is top-notch for fixing ball marks on golf greens. Just place the stainless steel spikes into the green, squeeze the trigger to compact the soil, and lift the depression caused by the golf ball. This essential tool for mower operators quickly removes ball marks and restores the greens.
Key benefits of the Turf-Tec Ball Mark Repair Tool include adjustable spike depth. You can insert the 1.5-inch spikes as deep or as shallow as needed, lifting them as high or low as you want. It allows for gentle or aggressive action based on the operator's choice, which is especially helpful for cool-season grasses in summer.
Operation Steps:
Insert the spikes into the soil beside the ball mark at your chosen depth.
For deeper marks, insert the spikes fully; for shallower marks, insert them slightly.
Gently squeeze the trigger to close the jaws and lift the tool upward, raising the ball mark to the green level.
Rotate the spikes to a different angle above the ball mark and repeat.
After you’re satisfied with the results, gently press down on the ball mark with your foot or a flat object to level it.
This tool works effectively on all types of grass, making it the best option for ball mark repair.
